About the role WesTrac is seeking an experienced Resident Field Service Plant Mechanic to join the team in Port Macquarie or Tweed Heads! A Resident Field Service role with WesTrac will see you utilising your diagnostic skills to troubleshoot, repair and service a range of Caterpillar equipment for OEM customers. With a high level of autonomy, our technicians work to provide a service like no other! Proximity to site will be taken into consideration throughout the application process.

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or Mechanical trade qualification with heavy industry experience
  • Australian recognised Certificate of Proficiency (COP)
  • Familiar with Caterpillar Equipment
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously in the field and in a team
  • Current Drivers Licence

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to CAT systems like SIS or ET is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Performing repairs, maintenance and inspections on a range of customer equipment
  • Diagnosing and reporting for preventative maintenance
  • Autonomously providing solutions, service and satisfaction to our customer
  • Liaising and building a strong customer base and providing timely product support
  • Documenting work and completing any required documentation
  • Scheduling jobs and ordering parts as necessary
