About The Position

The Plant Mechanic position at Red Hills Power Plant involves the maintenance of power plant boilers, steam & gas turbines, and auxiliary equipment. The role requires updating plant maintenance records in a computer-based work order management system (Maximo). Candidates should have experience in welding, rotating equipment, pumps, hydraulics, conveyors, piping, mills, intake structures, and combustion turbines. The position demands the ability to read and understand plant equipment/system prints and technical literature, as well as operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently. The role supports a 24/7 schedule, including holiday and back shift work when necessary.

Requirements

• Experience in the maintenance of power plant equipment.
• Two-year technical certification or associate's degree in a Mechanical discipline preferred.
• Ability to read and understand technical literature and equipment/system prints.
• Welding experience (TIG, MIG, Stick) required.
• Experience in the Industrial Maintenance field preferred.

Nice To Haves

• In-depth knowledge of coal-fired power plant systems (turbine, generator, feedwater, etc.) desired.
• Strong organizational, administrative, time management, project management, facilitation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain power plant boilers, steam & gas turbines, and auxiliary equipment.
• Update plant maintenance records in Maximo.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and/or replace mechanical equipment such as pumps, bearings, motors, augers, crushers, fans, and valves.
• Work in a team environment and follow safety procedures.
• Support a 24/7 schedule, including holiday and back shift work.
