Stratas Foods, a 50/50 joint venture between ACH Food Companies and Archer Daniels Midland Company, was formed in October 2008. Leveraging over 200 years of combined experience, Stratas Foods provides value-added, branded, and custom-formulated fats and oils solutions to the Food Service, Food Ingredient, and Retail sectors. The company aims to be the most valued supplier of fats, oils, dressings, mayonnaise, and salad dressings to the private label retail bottled oils market in the United States. The Plant Manager I is responsible for overseeing all plant operations, directing facility resources to ensure the plant operates within budget, delivers quality products and superior service, and maintains a safe and challenging work environment. This role also ensures optimal use of all facility resources to achieve the lowest possible manufacturing cost while meeting customer expectations and complying with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of experience in Plant and Production Supervisory positions
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
  • Familiarity with PLC, Warehouse Management Systems, Inventory Management Systems, and Plant Automation Systems
  • Ability to interface with mainframe, general accounting, MRP, and order processing systems
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Establish clear plant goals and objectives in alignment with corporate strategies and business initiatives.
  • Coordinate the development of subordinate-level goals and action plans consistent with the overall plant goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, and GMP rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Monitor and implement annual capital plans that maintain the plant infrastructure, provide new products and services, and provide productivity savings necessary to meet financial targets.
  • Maintain compliance with State & Federal environmental regulations.
  • Guarantee plant operates safely and in compliance with OSHA and regulatory mandates.
  • Ensure the plant is operated in compliance with all environmental regulatory standards.
  • Identification, development, and execution of cost savings/productivity projects.
  • Purchasing, to include materials, supplies, and utilities.
  • Management of maintenance inventory parts & supplies.
  • Oversee food safety through good manufacturing practices compliance.
  • Ensure finished goods meet internal and external quality requirements through the establishment of HACCP and other quality processes.
  • Identify and implement initiatives that provide our customers with continuous improvement opportunities in customer service.
  • Provide leadership in the creation of a zero-injury culture at the plant.
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of a robust process safety management program for the plant.
  • Maintain compliance with Food Safety & Security policy & procedures.
  • Achieve customer service goals and objectives.
  • Foster a positive, motivated, and challenging work environment.
  • Develop reporting mechanisms to track and communicate the progress of key plant objectives.
  • Training & Development of Salaried Staff.
  • Performance evaluation of Salaried Staff.
  • Training & development of the hourly workforce.
  • Provide a leadership role in the development and implementation of appropriate productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct daily meetings covering production, quality, and plant needs.
  • Assumes responsibilities of the Plant Superintendent in their absence.
  • Communicate with Corporate for daily operations.
  • Collaborate closely with onsite teams and participate in onsite meetings to drive departmental objectives.
