About The Position

The purpose of this position is to drive profitable business with the highest levels of safety, customer satisfaction, and quality. The plant manager must also provide leadership and guidance to managers in every functional area of the plant, as well as support a positive work climate and culture. Coordinate through direct reports the execution of production schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacity. Play lead role in resolving customer related issues and actively participate in customer sponsored training or kaizen activities.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years’ experience as a functional leader within a large manufacturing plant or as a plant manager
  • Demonstrated leadership in TPS (Toyota Production System)
  • Experience in: Management, manufacturing process, dealing with customers, budget preparation, and cost control
  • Solid problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of product requirements and equipment
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent decision-making skills in a production environment
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Must be able to maintain a team atmosphere and positive work environment
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or business

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in IATF 16949 strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Determine plant policies consistent with company values / policy and direct the application of such policies to the plant’s operations.
  • Inform JNA of customer related or other business issues, make recommendations, and seek directions as appropriate.
  • Confer with Manufacturing Manager, HR Manager, PC Manager, Quality Manager, and Engineering Manager on the application of production processes, kaizen activities, and adherence to safety and environmental programs.
  • Review all recommendations for capital equipment or other special machinery.
  • Work closely with product and manufacturing engineering departments to ensure successful customer product launches.
  • Control quality, cost of production, manufactured WIP, and finished goods inventory levels through appropriate subordinates.
  • Assure appropriate cost reduction efforts are in place to achieve company financial plan.
  • Participate in Daily FMDS mentoring team members and driving improvement to the process.
  • Lead plant-wide communications and messaging including All Hands Meetings to drive associate relations.
  • Oversee through the facility engineering and plant maintenance functions that building, equipment, and properties are adequately maintained.
  • Participate in long-range plant expansion, conversion, equipment planning and leading annual Hoshin plan development.
  • Participate directly in positive employee relation activities, including union avoidance training, employee functions, ongoing communications and policy implementation.
  • Review and approve recommendation of subordinates in matters of personnel or salary changes.
  • Represent the company in the community and promote the company’s goodwill and interests in community activities.
  • Set goals for EHS, oversee compliance with policies and improvement efforts to ensure that a safe, risk-free environment is offered to all employees.
  • Work daily overtime and Saturdays and/or Sundays, when necessary, to complete essential duties.
  • Maintain privacy of all PHI in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Continuously strive to improve adherence to the Plant Management Requirements (PMR).
  • Annual development and execution of a business plan that improves profitability, operational metrics and is accurately forecasted.
  • Implement TPS in the factory.
  • Drive Lean to improve flow and connection.
  • Driving all plant performance measurements and KPI’s including but not limited to safety, quality, productivity, continuous improvement and profitability.
  • Using a variety of methods communicates plant performance and profitability, as well as long-term Hoshin objectives to senior executives.
  • Creating a positive plant culture that demonstrates leadership in safety, environmental, and quality compliance.
  • Driving customer service culture at every level and achieving highest ratings on customer satisfaction.
  • Develop plant leadership through coaching, mentoring and driving a team culture with strong communication practices throughout the organization.
