Are you excited about this Plant Manager job? As the Plant Manager at Barrett Petfood, you will serve as the primary point of contact for work direction and issue resolution, ensuring smooth operations within the facility. Your role will involve organizing, training, and directing department managers while providing constructive feedback and guidance to address immediate production challenges. Collaborating closely with managers, you will coordinate operations across the plant, fostering a culture of teamwork and efficiency. Regular reports to the Director of Manufacturing will allow you to evaluate and analyze operational performance while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices for health and safety. You'll develop and implement procedures to create a safe work environment and play a key role in the trainee program. Additionally, your strategic input will be instrumental in long-range planning for equipment and facilities to meet capacity demands and promote a zero-waste environment.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations or industrial environments
  • 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role (e.g. Production Supervisor, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager)

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the point of contact for work direction and issue resolution of the plant.
  • Organizes, trains, and directs department managers.
  • Provides constructive, timely and regular feedback sessions and guidance.
  • Provides guidance to managers to address immediate staff/production issues.
  • Collaborate with Managers to coordinate operation throughout the plant and other departments in the facility.
  • Regularly reports to Director of Manufacturing to collect, evaluate, analyze, and assess operation.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.
  • Develops and implements procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Develop staff and serve as an integral role in the trainee program.
  • Participate in long range planning of equipment and facilities to meet plant capacity needs and strive toward a zero-waste environment.
