About The Position

About the Role: As a Plant Manager, you will be a key player in shaping a supportive and engaging work environment for the Wayland, MI, plant, a manufacturer of quality nondairy creamer products. As the Plant Manager, your role will have complete ownership and accountability for overall plant operations with a desire to win. In coordination with the site team, the Plant Manager assures employee engagement, safety, quality, customer service, continuous improvement, cost, and production objectives are met or exceeded. This role involves making strategic recommendations to improve efficiency, safety, throughput, cost reduction, productivity, schedule compliance, and quality. You will add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to: Providing coaching and leadership to team members in the areas of employee engagement, safety, quality, customer service, continuous improvement, cost, and equipment reliability to elevate the team’s performance. Promoting a safety culture and ensuring adherence to all health and safety policies/protocols. Leading the development, execution, and monitoring of the operations strategy in line with the overall operational objectives to achieve safety, quality and performance improvement and ensure achievement of manufacturing goals. Leading the continuous improvement program to deliver opportunities in cost, quality, food safety and service. Utilizing available data including OEE, line speed target, and efficiency and process data to continuously improve productivity, uptime, and reliability. Coordinating manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment. Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plant-wide initiatives. Important Details: This is a full-time, on-site role on first shift. Occasional flexibility is required to support alternate shifts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial technology, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of leadership experience in a production or food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, quality control procedures, and inventory management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading in a union environment is preferred.
