About The Position

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while meeting quality standards and customer expectations. This role provides leadership across production, safety, quality, maintenance, and staffing, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, operational excellence, and employee development.

Requirements

  • 4 year college degree
  • 10 years as a Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or Operations Manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience in a production or industrial setting.
  • Prior Tire Manufacturing experience
  • Strong knowledge of business and management principles, including budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard manufacturing equipment, production systems, and technical processes.
  • Solid understanding of safety, quality, productivity, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Proficiency with computers and manufacturing-related software systems.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and team-building skills with the ability to lead by example.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and manage daily plant operations to achieve production goals and exceed customer expectations.
  • Increase production capacity, asset utilization, and operational flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor plant performance, analyze operational data, and implement corrective actions to address inefficiencies, waste, and overtime.
  • Lead, recruit, develop, and manage plant staff while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements; actively promote a strong safety culture.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain plant systems, processes, KPIs, and performance metrics to track productivity and return on assets.
  • Establish and enforce plant policies and procedures aligned with company goals and operational standards.
  • Ensure production schedules and targets are met within established timelines.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
  • Stay current with manufacturing best practices, production management concepts, and industry trends.
