About The Position

Reporting to the Manufacturing Director, the Plant Manager leads all aspects of the facility's daily operations. The Plant Manager ensures efficient production while focusing on safety, quality, and cost. Lead and manage staff, implementing strategic plans to meet production goals and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years in manufacturing with proven Plant Management experience.
  • 5-7 years in manufacturing supervision, quality, and related areas in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proactive employee relations leadership to include coaching and mentoring subordinates.
  • Proven ability to set goals for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production equipment and processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, employee relations, leadership techniques, in the coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of machines, tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations or related discipline is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean tools and principles is also desired.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the local plant budget and cost metrics to exceed the business results.
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of all plant personnel engaged in the production and processing of can/end production.
  • Develop daily operating plans coordinate staff to lead maintenance, and production schedules in order to meet customer requirements.
  • Review metrics and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Confer as needed with plant staff to coordinate operations and activities throughout the facility.
  • Ensure safe operation of all equipment and ensure supervisors train associates as necessary.
  • Ensure all associates adhere to production and processing standards.
  • Provide guidance to direct reports in resolving employee complaints and or grievances.
  • Ensure all Company procedures and policies applicable to your operation are enforced.
  • Ensure all production, quality, and maintenance systems are in working order.
  • Monitor and drive scrap and spoilage to a minimum.
  • Provide the annual performance review for direct reports.
  • Establish a working environment which promotes the importance of employees acting with integrity and in an ethical manner.
  • Ensure the execution of key internal controls within the area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Ardagh core values and policies and procedures.
