About The Position
The Plant Manager at Oldcastle Infrastructure is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all operations within the plant's fence-line. This senior leadership position requires a dynamic individual who can foster collaboration among various departments, including operations, sales, engineering, accounting, and transportation. The Plant Manager is expected to drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on workplace safety, production efficiency, product cost management, and exceptional customer service. The role demands a proactive approach to ensure compliance with safety and environmental practices, leading by example to cultivate a safety-first culture among plant employees and guests. In this role, the Plant Manager will lead production scheduling to meet customer demands, ensuring timely delivery of products. A strong emphasis on customer service and effective communication across teams is essential. The Plant Manager will partner with the engineering team to ensure that accurate drawings and designs are utilized during the manufacturing process. Additionally, the role involves purchasing materials and services necessary for the facility's operations, as well as hiring, supervising, orienting, training, and retaining operations and product staff. The Plant Manager is also responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workplace that is always ready for tours. The ability to read and interpret drawings, plan production tasks accordingly, and coach employees in producing products correctly is crucial. Familiarity with operating standard tools on the plant floor, such as overhead cranes and hand tools, is beneficial for effective coaching and troubleshooting. Leadership skills are paramount, as the Plant Manager will motivate crews during morning huddles, lead mid-day meetings, and coach team leads on setting and following expectations. The role may also involve performing other duties as assigned by the General Manager, as deemed necessary.
