About The Position

The Plant Manager at Oldcastle Infrastructure is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all operations within the plant's fence-line. This position requires a dynamic leader who can foster collaboration among various departments, including operations, sales, engineering, accounting, and transportation. The Plant Manager is expected to drive the production process while ensuring a culture of safety and continuous improvement. This includes not only managing the day-to-day operations but also implementing strategies to enhance workplace safety, production efficiency, product cost management, and customer service. In this role, the Plant Manager will lead by example, ensuring that all employees and guests comply with safety and environmental practices. They will be responsible for production scheduling to meet customer needs, emphasizing timely delivery and proactive communication across teams. The Plant Manager will work closely with the engineering team to ensure that proper drawings and designs are utilized during the manufacturing process, and will also be involved in purchasing materials and services necessary for the facility's operations. A key aspect of this role is the ability to hire, supervise, orient, train, and retain operations and product staff. The Plant Manager will promote a clean and organized workplace that is always ready for tours and inspections. They will need to possess the ability to read and interpret drawings, plan production tasks accordingly, and coach employees to ensure products are manufactured correctly. Familiarity with standard tools on the plant floor, such as overhead cranes and batch plants, will enhance their effectiveness as a coach and troubleshooter. Additionally, the Plant Manager will be responsible for motivating crews during morning huddles, leading effective mid-day meetings, and coaching team leads on setting and following expectations. They will also conduct inventory counts and promote safety best practices in meetings with other Plant Managers. This role may involve performing other duties as assigned by the General Manager, as deemed appropriate and necessary.
