About The Position

This position is responsible for all functional areas of a Poultry processing plant including the efficient operation of three production shifts, maintenance personnel, safety, shipping, receiving, sanitation, scheduling, quality, and process improvement. Other responsibilities include motivating managers to provide guidance and programs to enhance the skill level of their employees, resolving issues related to the quality of incoming and outgoing goods, and reviewing cost and performance data to help determine areas that need improvement. This position also requires compiling a monthly expense and efficiency report, promoting and explaining the TQM philosophy to employees, and obtaining approval and executing all capital improvements for plants. Responsible for facilitating the Talent Mapping and Succession Planning Programs and supporting the Retention Program. This position is responsible for food safety, food quality, and legality. Other duties include initiating discussion and implementation of improvement in all phases of production, assisting in identifying, evaluating, and correcting problems, and performing other responsibilities as the need arises.

Requirements

  • Requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Progressive 8 plus years experience
  • Applicable experience in Food Processing Industry preferred
  • Responsible for managing several groups of personnel performing diverse tasks in more than one department
  • General knowledge of computer programs used in the operation of the production plant, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and preferably working knowledge of SAP systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
