To learn more about playing for Team Amcor, visit www.amcor.com I LinkedIn I Glassdoor I Facebook I YouTube Job Description As the Plant Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for a small to mid‑sized facility (typically <300 employees) to ensure consistent achievement of key performance targets in Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost. You'll lead the plant’s leadership team, develop talent at all levels, and ensure that systems, processes, equipment, and materials operate in full alignment with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. This role reports directly to the Director, Manufacturing, with 10 direct reports on the Plant Lead Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience; flexible packaging experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated passion and leadership in workplace safety.
  • Proven ability to lead and sustain continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Solid customer‑service mindset and communication skills.
  • Financial acumen with the ability to interpret and act on financial and operational performance.

  • Six Sigma Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Strong Safety-First Culture Champion a proactive safety culture to ensure every employee goes home injury‑free. Ensure compliance with all safety, product safety, fire protection, and housekeeping standards.
  • Drive Operational Excellence Analyze and leverage KPI data (safety, quality, waste, productivity) to identify improvement opportunities and address performance gaps. Manage process control systems and ensure SOPs are current, effective, and aligned with quality and safety requirements. Oversee plant budgeting and ensure execution of capital expenditure plans. Ensure effective planning and utilization of manpower, materials, and machinery.
  • Develop Talent and Build Organizational Capability Lead all plant human‑capital planning, including workforce planning, performance management, salary planning, and leadership development. Attract, hire, and develop top talent, ensuring strong succession pipelines across the facility. Promote a high‑performance culture rooted in accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen Communication and Engagement Provide clear, timely, and consistent communication across all levels of the plant. Lead employee engagement efforts and action planning. Ensure transparent updates to associates on business objectives, performance, and priorities.
  • Elevate Continuous Improvement Foster and grow a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture by allocating resources and actively leading or participating in CI teams. Share and adopt best practices across facilities.
  • Ensure Regulatory and Compliance Excellence Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver Results Meet or exceed all plant business plan metrics and KPI targets. Deliver operational performance within budget and aligned to strategic objectives.
