About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring the Madison Processed Meats manufacturing facility operates efficiently safely and in accordance with standard operating procedures for all responsible areas. This includes daily and weekly schedule review and planning maintaining facility operational status to Tyson standards maintaining a safe work environment. Additional responsibilities include managing responsible Team Members in their areas of responsibility; overall responsibility for HACCP and effective interaction with QA USDA and Maintenance; prepare annual budget in conjunction with local Accounting; review and approve purchase requisitions reconcile daily production and materials issues and effective interaction with the training department to maintain a capable workforce; and any other responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager. This position is responsible for food safety food quality and legality.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or combination of experience and education.
  • Experience: 4+ years of Operation experience in a further processing plant preferred. Ham knowledge is a plus.
  • Computer Skills: Standard computer skills in Excel Access Word and Outlook.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must have ability to communicate and interact effectively with customers.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to access all areas of the production floor to conduct audits and inspections; fixed ladders stairs steps etc. able to tolerate environmental conditions in the area of responsibility the temperature in most of the areas range from 28 - 45 degrees.
  • Supervisory Skills: Responsible for all Operation Management at the Madison Processed Meats facility; includes Materials Procurement Local Planning and Scheduling Maintenance and Operation; includes responsibility to review team members in these roles and develop improve deficient areas.
  • Travel: As needed.
  • SHIFT: A shift position with some weekends as needed.
