About The Position

The Plant Manager at Howmet Aerospace's Dover Casting facility is responsible for overseeing all business operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining high employee engagement. This role involves strategic planning, financial management, and direct oversight of engineering, manufacturing, quality control, and maintenance functions to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in financial P&L management, leading manufacturing excellence, and customer management.
  • Proven track record in driving improvements through lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and manage all business operations of the Dover Casting plant.
  • Ensure compliance with all EHS rules required for the operation.
  • Maintain high levels of employee engagement through regular meetings and communications.
  • Partner with the Castings Director of Operations to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Support the development of new market opportunities from proposal through market realization.
  • Coordinate hiring and headcount plans with the Plant HR team.
  • Work with the Campus EHS team to reduce workplace risks and environmental impacts.
  • Collaborate with the Segment Finance team to achieve P&L targets.
  • Oversee Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Maintenance functions, ensuring quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and cost improvement.
  • Participate in annual planning and monthly forecast reviews for Dover Casting.
  • Direct monthly business reviews with Senior Management teams.
  • Enhance customer relations by understanding their product and service needs.
  • Establish criteria to measure growth and evaluate results against performance standards.
  • Take corrective actions for unsatisfactory conditions in business operations.
  • Manage inventory levels and OEE of critical assets within targets.
  • Analyze production capacity against demand projections to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Drive talent development and ensure succession plans for key team members.
