About The Position

Maintenance technician Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of various production and packaging machines.

Requirements

  • Food or Medical plant experience is preferred.
  • Basic hydraulics/pneumatics experience
  • Basic Conveyor maintenance
  • Building and grounds maintenance experience
  • Electrical experience (480/110/low voltage) - PLC/VFD knowledge is a plus.
  • Ammonia Refrigeration experience is a plus.
  • Able to speak, read and write in English a must.
  • Bilingual skills a plus - English/Spanish
  • Able to read and follow blueprints and electrical diagrams.
  • Experience in performing preventative maintenance.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, cold, wet production environment.
  • Able to interface well with production line workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations preferred.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience in an industrial maintenance capacity preferred.
  • Food or Medical plant experience is preferred, as well as knowledge of and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food manufacturing best practices.
  • Frequent need to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, push/pull, and ability to access small areas.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders, and work at elevated heights
  • Must be available to work as scheduled.
  • Schedule is a 2-2-3, 12-hour shift per day.

Responsibilities

  • Able to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance.
  • Provide emergency repairs on production equipment (as assigned by Dispatch, Leads, or Management) to always keep lines operational.
  • Use of power tools, drill press, weld, shop tools, etc.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment including replacement of failed components such as bearings, belts, motors, power/control lines, etc.
  • Diagnoses problems and replace or repair parts as needed.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts, using specifications and/or blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools.
  • Adjust various types of devices and control systems.
  • Clean and lubricate parts as required.
  • Confirm that equipment is operating to production standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
