About The Position

The Plant Maintenance Technician at Waste Management is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment within a Material Recycling Facility. This role involves responding to system failures, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently. The technician will work closely with the Plant Maintenance Manager and is expected to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient in welding and fabrication.
• Knowledge of single and three-phase electrical systems.
• Knowledge of electrical control systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with diagnosing defects and repairing a variety of equipment and vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the operation of all plant systems and equipment.
• Perform repairs in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA requirements.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components.
• Maintain a backlog of Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI).
• Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Inspect the quality of third-party repairs and recommend improvements.
• Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards.
