Plant Maintenance Tech I
About The Position
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, structures, and pipe in and around company well field by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment used in and around well field. May be asked to listen for unusual sounds from well field machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine. Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery used in well field. Installs and repairs broken pipe, casing, and or any related well field equipment. Will lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe system and any related equipment in or around well field. Will repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and all other related well field equipment. Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment. Sets up and operates machine tools such as drills or other machinery used to repair other machinery in and around well field. Will operate butt- fusing machine used in and around well field. Will repair structures used in and around well field. Other duties may be assigned. Employee must have the ability and willingness to work up to a 12-hour shift outdoors, must be willing to work overtime when required and approved by Superintendent, and must have the ability and willingness to work alternating day and night shifts.

- Related experience and/or training equivalent to combination of education and experience.

- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Must be able to read and write in the English language to communicate efficiently and effectively in written form.
- Ability and willingness to work up to a 12-hour shift outdoors
- Willingness to work overtime when required and approved by Superintendent
- Ability and willingness to work alternating day and night shifts
- Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions and extreme heat.
