About The Position

The Plant Maintenance Supervisor - 2nd Shift is responsible for directing maintenance crews in the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of equipment used throughout the plant, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse equipment. This role oversees maintenance processes to reduce mechanical downtime and ensure product flows and production lines operate at maximum efficiency. The supervisor leads teams of Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in predictive and preventative maintenance and machine repair, while also developing and implementing maintenance systems and processes associated with efficient manufacturing organizations. The position requires close collaboration with production teams to schedule and accomplish equipment and facility repairs, as well as maintaining accurate records of maintenance work performed and inventory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in leading, training, coaching, or mentoring staff.
  • Advanced technical skills in ammonia refrigeration, high pressure boiler, and mechanical/electrical fields.
  • Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems and work order processes.
  • Strong leadership skills including conflict resolution and decision making.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Direct maintenance crews in the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of equipment.

  • Develop and implement maintenance systems and processes.
  • Schedule maintenance in a timely manner and collaborate with production teams.
  • Maintain Key Performance Indicators for tracking maintenance performance.
  • Provide long-term solutions and day-to-day support for troubleshooting and equipment failures.
  • Train employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA regulations.
  • Provide regular status reports to maintenance management.
