About The Position

Plant Maintenance Planning Supervisor ($87,800 - $117,000 targeted annual salary with 6% annual bonus target) Reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. Up to 8 direct hourly reports including day and shift mechanics. Job dimensions Responsible for effective planning and scheduling of plant maintenance activities for maximum utilization of equipment and resources. Purchases and maintains MRO / Maintenance inventories and manages spare parts program. Manages SAP and acts as subject matter expert for the site. Schedules employees in accordance to collective bargaining agreement. Context and environment The ideal candidate: Complies with all external regulatory requirements, industry best practices and internal policies. Available to support continuous plant operations as needed. Ability to wear personnel protective equipment such as respirators

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or minimum 5 years exp. in manufacturing maintenance with focus on material and purchasing. (Chemical or Refinery Experience Preferred or Equivalent Military Experience)
  • Knowledge of production processes and equipment; mechanical background preferred
  • Knowledge of maintenance processes; work order system, planning/scheduling and storeroom.
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Proficient in MS office and SAP

Responsibilities

  • Planning/Scheduling (70%): Utilizes SAP to plan/schedule maintenance work for minimum downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Executes all maintenance requisitioning of equipment/parts; monitors status of materials and contract services.
  • Manages spare parts program; including identification of critical inventory, optimal stock levels, min/max levels and obsolete parts Provides reports on department KPIS as identified and analyzes data for improvement
  • Ensures compliance of planned jobs with Process Safety Management (PSM), safety and environmental requirements
  • Reviews work orders for accuracy and clarity: clear scope of work, correct equipment identification, realistic lead times and completion dates; discusses details with originator of the work order.
  • Defines scope of work to include; labor, material, and contractor services and provides total cost estimates
  • Verifies all material, information, tools and labor are available prior to scheduling
  • Coordinates contractor services as needed
  • Leads the scheduling meeting with operations to finalize priority of work orders, optimum downtime windows, and necessary lead times.
  • Identifies potential constraints that could impact the schedule and recommends corrective action.
  • Finalizes the maintenance resource schedule based on agreed plan with production.
  • Communicates schedule to all resources: maintenance, operations, contractor services and engineering.
  • Provides daily updates to the schedule showing work completed, rescheduled or cancelled.
  • Maintains comprehensive PM plans in CMMS; ensures PM routines are updated as needed
  • Prepares work order kits for planned jobs.
  • Participates in project teams to replace, upgrade or expand plant equipment
  • Supports BBS process by performing observations
  • SUPERVISION (30%): Directly supervises Mechanics and Shift mechanics creating weekly schedules, tracking OT, and addressing coverage issues according to the CBA
  • Tracks KPI’s and participates in MOE
  • Assists on LOTO and other critical safety programs
  • Schedules Maintenance personnel and Activities
