About The Position

The Plant Maintenance Mechanic at Energizer Holdings, Inc. is responsible for maintaining and repairing battery manufacturing and packaging equipment to ensure optimal production and quality standards. This role emphasizes safety, initiative, and continuous improvement in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience with pneumatic valves, hydraulic systems, motors and control systems, and various sensing devices
  • Knowledge of personal computers
  • Understanding of applicable codes and standards relative to the field (NEC)
  • Knowledgeable and competent in safety disciplines stipulated by OSHA
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High school diploma or educational equivalent with a mix of training, education, and experience in Mechanical Maintenance
  • Three or more years of experience as a skilled tradesperson in a manufacturing/industrial setting
  • Experience in welding, fabricating, and machining
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job including lifting, walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Self-motivated with ability to work in a team-oriented environment with limited supervision

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety standards at all times
  • Respond to various equipment conditions, analyze the situation for root cause, and apply the appropriate skill to resolve the issue
  • Perform quality checks and record data as required
  • Demonstrate initiative to identify and apply solutions to remove roadblocks
  • Demonstrate ownership and willingness to continuously improve self and area of accountability
  • Make equipment adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standard
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and good housekeeping of work areas
  • Other duties as assigned
