About The Position

The Plant Maintenance Mechanic II will work on the maintenance, repairs, and modifications of the central utility plant and all of its equipment (i.e. chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, etc.).

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a central utility plant.
• Valid Texas driver license and three (3) years of driving history.
• This position requires the employee to be on campus for emergency operations.
• Be available to return to plant on emergency situations with no more than 30 minute notice.

Nice To Haves

• Two (2) years of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment in the plant in an efficient, safe and effective manner.
• Perform repairs on all equipment in the plant in an efficient, safe, and effective manner.
• Make any necessary modifications to all equipment in the plant in an efficient, safe, and effective manner.
• Walk utility tunnels to change light bulbs and look for any issues with the steam, condensate return, and chill water systems.
• Keep necessary inventory on tools, fittings, and supplies for all plant equipment.
• Performs other duties assigned.
