Plant Maintenance Mechanic (Apprentice II)
About The Position
Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Plant Maintenance Mechanic - Loader Operator for our Rochester, NY facility. This role primarily supports the production of ready-mix concrete by performing routine plant and equipment maintenance across multiple sites in the greater Rochester area. Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. What You'll Be Doing Perform regular maintenance, including greasing, cutting, welding, and servicing air/pneumatic systems. Maintain and repair conveyor belts and conveying systems. Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of electrical and automated batching systems (a plus). Operate a front-end loader to supply the batch plant with aggregates and other materials. Travel to various facilities as needed to support operations. Follow all Heidelberg Safety protocols.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
- Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
