About The Position

Responsible for retaining or restoring equipment, machine, or systems to the specified operable condition to achieve its maximum life, including corrective and preventative maintenance to conserve as long as possible the original condition of an asset or resource while compensating for normal wear and tear. This position reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

  • Must be able to take orders, instructions, and guidance from supervisors and management.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be able to do simple math, such as addition and subtraction.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal Department of Transportation drug/alcohol screening and physical.
  • Must maintain driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier regulations and company policy.
  • Must be able to deal with co-workers and customers in a diplomatic, manner in varied stressful situations.
  • Must be able to operate vehicle and perform tasks in a safe manner and observe all safety requirements and policies.
  • In-depth knowledge of the concrete plant maintenance is an asset.
  • Experience with repairs and maintenance of processing equipment.
  • Experience and knowledge with all types of welding procedures and equipment.
  • Electrical experience along with the ability to do diagnostics on single and three phase components.
  • Must be willing and able to perform duties as requested or assigned.

  • In-depth knowledge of the concrete plant maintenance is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Review the operations of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities to improve equipment.
  • Repair or replace any defective equipment to maintain proper operations of the plant using hand held tools.
  • Monitor the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment and initiate reordering when necessary.
  • Document use of spare parts and maintenance history of plants.
  • Observe and make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance related issues.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Communicate with supervisor frequently through out the day to ensure all maintenance requirements are being met in a timely manner.
  • Initiate and carry out projects to improve efficiencies and/or reduces operating costs.
  • Assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansion.
