About The Position

As a Plant Lube Technician, you will be responsible for performing lubrication and preventive maintenance on fixed plant equipment, including conveyors, crushers, screens, feeders, and associated components. This role is crucial for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations by focusing on routine lubrication, contamination prevention, and assisting with condition monitoring. The position supports overall plant maintenance efforts and is available across various shifts, including 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am, Sunday-Wednesday and Wednesday-Saturday.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of lubrication principles, greasing techniques, oil types, quantities, and service intervals.
  • Familiarity with fixed plant equipment such as conveyors, crushers, screens, feeders, bearings, pulleys, and gearboxes.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn plant maintenance processes.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and lubrication schedules.
  • Ability to recognize and report basic equipment issues or abnormal conditions.
  • Ability to read, write, and complete basic maintenance documentation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety with a positive, proactive safety mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to perform physical labor as required.
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, overtime, and rotating shifts as required.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience performing lubrication activities on fixed plant equipment, or experience in plant maintenance within an aggregate or similar industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with basic monitoring systems and maintenance documentation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform lubrication and oil changes on fixed plant equipment, including but not limited to conveyors, crushers, screen units, feeders, gearboxes, bearings, and stationary motors, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Apply proper lubrication techniques using correct lubricant types, quantities, and frequencies to prevent contamination and premature equipment failure.
  • Follow established lubrication schedules and work instructions for fixed plant assets.
  • Install, repair, and replace grease lines, fittings, and lubrication delivery components.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections, workplace exams, and pre‑shift/post‑shift inspections as required.
  • Observe equipment conditions during servicing and report abnormal findings or concerns to supervisor.
  • Assist with vibration monitoring activities, oil sampling, and basic condition checks as directed to support equipment inspections.
  • Collect oil samples from fixed equipment and submit samples per established procedures.
  • Document lubrication activities, oil sampling, inspections, and maintenance tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support maintenance activities by assisting plant maintenance team with basic fixed-equipment tasks as directed.
  • Maintain lubrication tools, oil storage areas, and workspaces in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and operational rules, regulations, and procedures set forth by company policies and MSHA.
  • Follow company policies and local, state, and federal regulations for safe working procedures.
  • Regular, reliable attendance at the assigned worksite.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job as assigned.
