About The Position

The Plant Lead Operator (Night Shift) at Airgas is responsible for assisting the supervisor during shifts and in their absence. Key duties include ensuring overall shift safety, quality, and efficiency, as well as aiding in plant startup, cleaning presses and other equipment, troubleshooting machinery with light mechanical adjustments, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for scale operation. The operator will also manage the operation of pellet machines, complete various forms and checklists, review ice supply inventory, audit packaging lists, and ensure drivers fill shipping manifests and shift stats.

Requirements

• Experience as an operator with efficient performance of all SOPs.
• Experience troubleshooting machinery.
• Forklift written and driven evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor with overall shift safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Aid in plant startup and cleaning of presses and other equipment.
• Troubleshoot machinery with light mechanical adjustments.
• Follow Scale Operation SOP to run front assigned totes and stage orders.
• Operate pellet machines according to SOP.
• Complete pre-shift forms, lift table forms, forklift checklists, snow tests, biocide tests, pellet checklists, and pellet metal detector checks.
• Review ice supply inventory and audit packaging lists.
• Ensure drivers fill shipping manifests and shift stats.
