About The Position

Butte Sand and Gravel in Sutter, CA is hiring a safety-conscience Crusher/Heavy Equipment Operator. The successful candidate will be able to operate front-end loaders, dozers and have experience around rock crushers and aggregate processing facilities. Requirements

  • Must have 1 - 3 years of experience as a front-end loader operator, or similar heavy equipment operations.
  • MSHA certification is a plus, but will train and certify the right candidate.
  • Must have mechanical experience and knowledge of basic systems such as conveyor systems, engine components, hydraulic components and electrical systems.
  • Must have basic knowledge of welding, cutting and metal fabrication.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test
  • Regularly works outdoors near heavy equipment
  • Regular operation in either hot or cold environments. Occasional high winds and dust
  • Works frequently near moving mechanical parts and exposed to wet conditions and vibrations
  • Regularly required to use hands to handle, feel, or operate different tools or equipment
  • Ability to occasionally lift 60 to 100 pounds
  • Will be required to stand or sit for long periods of time and climb stairs to operate and repair equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • MSHA certification is a plus, but will train and certify the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Cat 988 Front End Loader
  • Safely operate a skid steer front end loader
  • Operation and maintenance of aggregate plant systems including conveyor belts, rock crushers, screening plants and pumps
  • Participate in all safety meetings
  • Participate in all training classes to maintain proficiency
  • Communicate directly with coworkers and supervisors in regards to equipment condition, repairs, and scheduled inspections
  • Safely operate a water truck and other heavy equipment in an aggregate plant environment
