About The Position

The Plant Foreman will be responsible for managing the high school facilities of the local campus to ensure an inviting and safe atmosphere for students, staff, parents, and community.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must possess ability to work with and communicate with students, staff, and parents.
  • Providing customer service.

  • Comprehending reference books and manuals.
  • Organizing and maintaining supplies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
  • Ability to make recommendation for major repairs or revamping of equipment; meet emergencies and analyze situations; do short- and long-range planning and budgeting; plan and lay out routine preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Occupational hazards and applicable safety principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in handling toxic and hazardous chemicals.
  • Proficiency in interpreting federal, state, local mandated programs, building codes and environmental rules and regulations.
  • General maintenance of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating and cooling equipment, maintenance materials and their proper application; types and kinds of equipment and material used in maintenance repairs.
  • Safety guidelines, mechanics, and equipment operation and repair.
  • Experience with safety codes in plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC.
  • Current federal and state mandated programs including asbestos, master meter gas systems, and fire systems.
  • Standard office machines, Computer and EMS systems.
  • Volt/Amp meter, all skilled hand tools, and CFC equipment.
  • Toxic and Hazardous chemicals.
  • Willingness to be an integral member of a successful team.
  • Dedication to provide the highest level of service.
  • Adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Resourceful and adaptable.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer two years of related experience
  • Post-high school education and/or training, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to deal effectively with matters of confidentiality.
  • Supervise the Maintenance Technicians, Lead Custodian and Custodians along with the overall maintenance of all campus buildings.
  • Coordinate all grounds work with the Grounds Foremen to ensure proper communication and workflow of all grounds maintenance.
  • Implement and sustain a maintenance and custodial training program for appropriate staff.
  • Use own initiative and judgment.
  • Manages the budget and oversees the expenditures for the Maintenance and Custodial Department.
  • In the event of an emergency or a weather-related event, the employee is considered to be on call 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
