About The Position

Piping Rock Health Products is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Plant Engineer to join our Ohio-based Manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the VP of Engineering and plant leadership to ensure operational efficiency and equipment reliability across the facility. This is a hands-on role ideal for an engineering professional with a strong mechanical background, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic production environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Up to 4 years of related engineering or plant maintenance experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to create technical drawings
  • Hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with maintenance tracking software and systems
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be comfortable in a production setting

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot all plant equipment (e.g., HVAC, boilers, compressors) for optimal performance and uptime
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager and department supervisors to drive efficiency across operations
  • Develop procedures and preventive maintenance tasks with maintenance teams for all site equipment
  • Ensure all preventive maintenance (PM) work orders are completed accurately and on time
  • Identify opportunities to enhance plant performance and recommend process improvements
  • Train plant personnel on safety protocols and quality control (QC) compliance procedures
  • Review project plans and timelines; monitor budgets and offer recommendations
  • Adapt plans as necessary by interpreting developments and providing clear direction
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, SOP, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) regulations
  • Analyze work order data and machine downtime trends to improve equipment uptime
  • Conduct facility safety audits and verify machinery meets safety standards
  • Support operational plans for renovation, construction, maintenance, and machine installation projects
  • Perform other engineering-related duties and special projects as assigned
