Position Purpose Multi-Crafted Engineer who executes mechanical, electrical, and process-related solutions, focusing on continually improving manufacturing process and efficiency. Guides, plans, and executes engineering projects that improve safety, quality, and site processes, and steers technical and operational projects that involve a broad range of equipment, materials, and complexity. Go-to person to Provide technical leadership for the site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field required, Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Preferred.
  • 5 years minimum of engineering/Maintenance combined experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred
  • 2-3 years, Maintenance Supervision/Facility Manager experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of equipment selection, troubleshooting, and installation.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and execute approximately 1M - 3M/year, capital investment projects.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, AutoCad or SolidWorks.

Nice To Haves

  • PLC programming is a plus.
  • Knowledge of plastic extrusion, packaging, co-packing, and/or blown or cast film manufacturing highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Guides hands-on problem solving, repairing, and continuous improvement of the overall manufacturing operations, with the Maintenance Team.
  • Has direct responsibility executing internal projects through managing and guiding a team of Mechanics, Outside vendors, and Buyer for the site, with Maintenance Team Lead.
  • Has full accountability for all corporate project execution at plant, with the direction of the site leader to drive cost savings, safety, new product, and process efficiency.
  • Manages all project management/spend/accounting for the site.
  • Drives and improves Plant Downtime and Storeroom Stock - with the Maintenance Team Lead.
  • Able to lead a team through complex change management, take ownership, and drive new process performance systems (IPS) with guidance from site leader.
  • Able to manage and drive a safety culture, through the Process Hazard Identification System.
  • Establishes optimum extrusion processes and process controls through machine and process capability studies.
  • Generates standard operating procedures (SOP's) and works with production teams to implement across plant.
  • Partners with Operations to provide training, guidance, and hands-on support for sustaining stable processes in the manufacturing process.
  • Initiates and carries out cost savings and lean manufacturing initiatives and shares best practices with the entire Operations team.
  • Assists in equipment specification, selection, installation, and start-up process establishment.
  • Influences future state plant capabilities and capacity through expansion, automation, process improvement, and standard operating procedures
  • Has full accountability for all corporate project execution at plant, with the direction of the site leader to drive cost savings, safety, new product, and process efficiency.
