About The Position

The Plant Engineer II position at Kaiser Permanente in Moreno Valley, California, involves performing maintenance and repairs on various equipment and machinery within the Medical Center. Requirements

  • 2 years recent experience with steam-related equipment and possession of the LA Unlimited Steam License or the 500 HP LA City Steam License.
  • 2 years recent Journeyman level electrical experience with a passing score on electrical knowledge and performance skills tests.
  • Experience in air-conditioning/refrigeration with EPA Rule 608 Universal Certification and passing scores on relevant tests.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes.

Nice To Haves

  • Four (4) years experience in building plant operations and maintenance preferred.
  • Three (3) years experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various maintenance tasks such as replacing filters, lubricating bearings, and repairing cabinets.
  • Conduct electrical repairs on devices like bed lamps and light switches.
  • Perform electrical safety tests on equipment and outlets.
  • Unclog pipes and plumbing fixtures as necessary.
  • Complete routine repairs on medical equipment such as stethoscopes and hospital beds.
  • Install plant equipment and maintain time clocks.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and maintain a hygienic work area.
  • Assist skilled maintenance personnel in trade tasks as needed.
  • Repair and maintain air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, including electrical circuit analysis.
  • Troubleshoot and repair related equipment like thermostats and ice machines.
  • Repair complex electrical devices using schematic diagrams.
  • Perform circuit analysis to identify defective components and restore equipment to operational state.
  • Weld and modify equipment or plant structures as needed.
  • Perform locksmithing tasks and maintain a key control system.
  • Drive to outlying clinics or remote areas to facilitate maintenance requirements.
  • Promote and improve customer service to internal and external customers.
