About The Position

The Plant Engineer position at Linde Inc. involves working at the HyCO production facilities in the Port Arthur Motiva and Valero Refineries, focusing on hydrogen production. The role is centered around ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations while providing technical support and mentoring to staff. The engineer will report to the Technical Manager-Gulf Coast and will be responsible for process safety, cost-saving initiatives, and optimizing plant operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
• 1-2 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical skills including knowledge of Process Safety procedures such as PHA, MOC, and RCA.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and maintain productive relationships across departments.
• Willingness to work in confined spaces and at elevated levels.
• Flexibility in work schedule to support operations during startup, shutdown, or unplanned events.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Process safety stewardship in all aspects including change management and hazard analysis.
• Mentor and support the development of PA1 and PA2 operations and maintenance personnel, and HyTOP engineers.
• Deliver and support cost-saving initiatives to accomplish productivity targets.
• Provide technical support to plant operations and maintenance, and turnaround organization in optimizing plant operations.
• Support and participate in driving reliability initiatives through root cause analysis and small project execution.
