About The Position

The position involves installing, maintaining, calibrating, adjusting, troubleshooting, and repairing treatment plant instrumentation, telemetering, and electrical systems. This includes working with various electrical components such as electric motors, variable frequency drives, switches, gauges, solenoids, relays, control panels, motor control centers, flow meters, transmitters, transducers, and level control systems. The role requires conducting electric and electronic tests, installing conduit and wire, and maintaining an electrical, electronic, and instrumentation repair shop. The technician will collaborate with Operators, Maintenance Specialists, and other staff on various plant equipment and facilities. Responsibilities also include installing electrical equipment and systems, performing preventative maintenance, conducting routine inspections, reading blueprints, and keeping work areas organized.

Requirements

  • Possess a journeyman's card in the electrical trade or electrical license from the State of Ohio, or an Associate's Degree in a related field with four years of experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in installing, repairing, calibrating, and troubleshooting electronic instrumentation.
  • Possess a Class 1 Wastewater Operator Certification, or ability to obtain within two years.
  • Valid driver's license with driving privileges in the State of Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, calibrates, adjusts, troubleshoots, and repairs treatment plant instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Conducts electric and electronic tests, installs conduit and wire.
  • Sets up, stocks, and maintains an electrical, electronic, and instrumentation repair shop.
  • Works with Operators, Maintenance Specialists, and other staff on plant equipment.
  • Installs electrical equipment and systems such as light fixtures, transformers, and circuits.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical systems.
  • Conducts routine inspections of electrical systems and components.
  • Reads blueprints and provides recommendations for equipment upgrades.
  • Cleans up work sites and keeps work areas organized.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
