About The Position

The Plant Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of all plant electrical equipment and controls. This includes managing control power, variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor drive panels (MDPs), and motors ranging from 1 to 300HP. The role requires a comprehensive approach to electrical maintenance, ensuring minimal production disruption through emergency repairs and effective planning of maintenance activities. The electrician will supervise preventative maintenance programs, manage inventories of spare parts, and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Additionally, the position involves training personnel, maintaining security of company assets, and ensuring a clean and orderly work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred).
  • Electrical License (Preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in control voltage and 277/460 systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Knowledge of safety procedures related to electrical maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all plant electrical maintenance and installations.
  • Modify control systems as needed.
  • Manage stores inventories and ensure availability of spare parts.
  • Conduct emergency repairs to minimize production disruption.
  • Supervise preventative electrical maintenance programs.
  • Plan and coordinate electrical maintenance activities.
  • Record time and materials for repairs and projects.
  • Install plant electrical equipment including conduit, wiring, and controls.
  • Maintain security of company assets including equipment and tools.
  • Schedule work assignments and record activities of assigned personnel.
  • Train personnel to develop electrical skills and ensure safe work habits.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas.
  • Implement and supervise an electrical maintenance program to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct inspections of electrical equipment and maintain documentation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and develop procedures for equipment controls.
  • Train personnel in the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment.
