About The Position

We are searching for a Distribution Supervisor to oversee shipping, receiving, material handling, inventory, storeroom activities, tank farm operations, production standards, and distribution processes. This role ensures maximum efficiency, cost control, and compliance with corporate policies, safety standards, and government regulations. Must be willing to continuously take on new responsibilities as you grow in this role!

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience Minimum of 3 years' experience in distribution, inventory control, and supervision.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; SAP or another ERP software, Maximo a huge plus.
  • Certification: Must obtain forklift certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Distribution Department Employees: Lead and manage employees across multiple functions to meet department objectives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipments to customers and other plants using cost-effective methods.
  • Oversee daily cycle counts and scheduled inventory activities.
  • Manage the tank farm team for safe and efficient railcar unloading.
  • Ensure proper documentation for all shipped and received goods.
  • Resource Allocation & Team Development: Interview, train, and motivate employees to achieve maximum performance and job satisfaction.
  • Address personnel issues and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Promote a positive work environment with a focus on safety, morale, and productivity.
  • Supply Monitoring & Coordination: Monitor raw materials, semi-finished goods, operational materials, and spare parts to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Direct goods to internal customers and designated plant areas.
  • Coordinate material delivery to appropriate locations within the plant.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and other departments to resolve distribution-related issues.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to corporate policies, safety standards, and government regulations.
  • Support management directives and provide feedback for operational improvements.
  • Maintain the organization's Quality and Food Safety standards.
  • Participate in monthly safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Organize maintenance for company vehicles.
  • Manage contractor services for waste removal.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager.
