About The Position

A custodian team member at Supreme Laundry and Cleaners is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency throughout the facility. This role involves managing waste, sanitizing equipment and work areas, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in an industrial laundry environment. The position requires working in a fast-paced, humid environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals and industrial machinery.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous custodial or industrial cleaning experience beneficial but not required
Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment a plus
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Capability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
Comfortable working in hot, humid conditions with temperature fluctuations
Able to work around loud machinery and industrial equipment
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and their safe usage
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills for reporting issues and following instructions
Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed
Valid driver's license may be required for some positions
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Willingness to complete facility-specific safety training
Basic English proficiency for understanding safety instructions and procedures

Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance: Clean and sanitize production floors, sorting areas, and administrative spaces daily.
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners throughout the facility, maintain clean restrooms, break rooms, and employee facilities.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum designated areas according to schedule.
Clean windows, doors, and glass surfaces.
Equipment and Machinery Support: Wipe down and sanitize washing machines, dryers, and folding equipment exteriors.
Clean lint traps, filters, and accessible equipment components.
Maintain cleanliness around conveyor systems and sorting stations.
Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
Chemical and Safety Management: Properly mix and use industrial cleaning chemicals following safety protocols.
Maintain accurate inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages.
Follow OSHA guidelines and facility safety procedures.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
Participate in safety training and hazard communication programs.
Waste and Environmental Management: Collect and dispose of lint, fabric debris, and general waste.
Separate recyclable materials according to facility procedures.
Maintain clean loading dock and exterior areas.
Monitor and report any environmental concerns or spills.
