The HC Companies is seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Controller to join our team in Middlefield, OH. This role is integral to our plant management and finance teams, focusing on maximizing plant profitability and ensuring the financial integrity of our operations. As a key member of the management team, the Plant Controller will be responsible for coordinating all plant accounting and financial activities, providing essential financial information and analysis to various stakeholders, including the Plant Manager and corporate finance team. This position requires a hands-on approach, balancing detailed task execution with higher-level management support. In this role, you will proactively assess product profitability, identify improvement opportunities, and lead discussions on plant financial performance. You will coordinate the preparation and review of plant budgets and forecasts, manage capital spending projects, and participate actively in plant operations. Establishing and enforcing internal controls, monitoring financial risks, and driving profitability improvement initiatives will be critical aspects of your responsibilities. You will also conduct financial analyses to monitor costs and financial positions in key areas, analyze income statements, and prepare various financial models to support decision-making. The Plant Controller will be involved in daily, weekly, and month-end activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This includes creating and posting journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, reviewing account coding, and preparing standard financial and operational reports. You will also be responsible for preparing sales and use tax returns and coordinating payroll activities with HR.
