About The Position
The Plant Conservation Genetics Intern will assist in the field and lab to study evolutionary relationships and population genetics of rare and endangered cacti (with special emphasis on hedgehog cacti, Echinocereus). The intern will have opportunities to work in the field to survey for cacti, record field data, and collect tissue to be used for genetic work. The intern will also work in the lab to determine DNA content using flow cytometry, extract DNA, and prepare samples for sequencing.
