About The Position

This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the commissioning process for all systems and equipment within a project. This role ensures that all mechanical, electrical, and control systems are installed, tested, and functioning according to project specifications and operational requirements. Acting as the key liaison between engineering, construction, and operations teams, this role plays a critical role in delivering safe, functional, and high-performance systems ready for handover and operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Typically, ten years of experience in commissioning and testing of industrial facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of system testing, startup protocols, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Experience developing test plans and procedures, and leading system walkdowns and readiness reviews.
  • Experience in planning and executing large-scale commissioning programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the of full scope commissioning program for a High Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor technology or Fuel Manufacturing Facility (depending on assignment).
  • Develop an Initial Test Plan (ITP), including pre-operational and startup procedures, processes and guidelines.
  • Lead and manage the full commissioning lifecycle from pre-commissioning to plant turnover, ensuring alignment with project milestones and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams to ensure design packages are commissioning-ready and reflect operational functionality.
  • Interface with construction planning to coordinate construction completion and system readiness for turnover.
  • Develop and maintain the commissioning schedule and integrate it with the overall project schedule.
  • Identify the staffing needs for commissioning, lead recruiting, onboarding, and training of site commissioning personnel.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the commissioning team, construction, design engineering, and the owner's team.
  • Manage the system turnover process, including documentation, testing verification, and final acceptance by the owner.
  • Hire, train, and manage staff who support the commissioning activities.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
