About The Position

Reporting to the Parks Supervisor, a Plant Care Technician engages in the general care and maintenance of annual, perennial, and woody plants. The work is conducted outdoors and in various weather conditions.

Requirements

• Must be a United States citizen. This position does not support sponsorship.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to perform heavy physical labor with weights up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work on uneven slopes, surfaces, grades and terrain in inclement weather and other adverse conditions.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in park maintenance.
• Previous experience in landscaping.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the care and condition of annual, perennial, and woody plants.
• Functions include: watering, weeding, mulching, staking, fertilizing, trash pick- up, and participating in short term projects.
• Maintains parks grounds to keep in safe and useable condition.
• Operates City-owned equipment and hand tools.
• Attends all safety trainings as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
