About The Position

The Planning Intern position at the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is designed for students and recent graduates to support transportation planning efforts across the state. Interns will collaborate with experienced planning staff to develop plans, engage stakeholders, analyze data, and manage transportation system performance measures. Requirements

  • A master's or bachelor's degree in planning, geography, urban studies, sociology, political science, or a closely related field.
  • One year of professional transportation planning experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or coursework analyzing data using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Microsoft Excel, or similar software.
  • Experience or coursework developing materials using Adobe Creative Suite applications (InDesign & Illustrator).
  • Experience working with diversity and equity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
