This opportunity entails being under close supervision and assisting the Planning department by performing basic assignments in areas including, but not limited to Transportation Planning, Land Use Planning, and Urban Mobility. This position is usually on a part-time, temporary, or co-op basis. The Chicago, IL office seeks a Planning Intern for Summer 2026. Relocation and housing are not provided for this position. Requirements

  • Enrolled in a related undergraduate or graduate program

Nice To Haves

  • ArcGIS experience
  • Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) experience
  • Microsoft Excel and/or Data Science (Python, R, etc.)
  • Writing and communication skills
  • AutoCAD and/or Microstation experience
  • Strong interest in transit, transportation design, and urban planning.

Responsibilities

  • Assists project team members with various support tasks.
  • Conducts basic research and data collection.
  • Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.
  • Assist in the development of graphics, presentation materials and reports.
  • Performs other duties assigned.
