Position summary: Are you enthusiastic about shaping transportation systems, fostering community development, and advancing sustainability? Our Planning Internship provides immersive, hands-on experience in a collaborative and fast-paced environment where your contributions can truly make a difference. As an intern, you will actively support a variety of planning projects and initiatives, gaining exposure to real-world processes and community engagement. We are seeking candidates with a strong passion for transportation, community, and environmental planning, who possess proficiency in GIS software, graphic design, and technical writing. This role is ideal for those eager to apply their skills while learning from experienced planners and making a meaningful impact on communities. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. The hourly rate associate with this position is $21.00 - $26.00 based on education level.

Requirements

  • College student enrolled (or intending to enroll) in a Bachelor's degree in a related field such as transportation planning, urban/regional planning, environmental planning, geography, public policy, landscape architecture, engineering, or economics.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency with GIS software (such as the ESRI suite), Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Assist in conducting research and analysis for diverse planning projects.
  • Create high-quality content for reports, presentations, and outreach materials, including written text, infographics, maps, and other graphics.
  • Collaborate with experienced planners on a wide range of planning initiatives.
  • Participate in real-world planning processes and community engagement activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
