About The Position

The Planning Intern at Smith+Nephew is responsible for creating and maintaining production schedules for manufactured products and components. This role involves executing activities according to the constrained master schedule to ensure timely delivery of products based on sales forecasts or customer orders. The intern will work closely with various teams to monitor work orders and ensure all resources are available for production.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with a 3.5 GPA.
• Experience with ERP & advanced planning systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares schedules and ensures timely completion of work orders for manufacturing processes.
• Identifies raw material and component requirements for production from engineering and production specifications.
• Assures 'clear to start' readiness for all work order generation.
• Establishes effective communication with supervisors, master planners, and plant production departments as required.
• Monitors work orders from start to finish to ensure on-time delivery of products.
• Ensures resources required for production are available.
• Prepares production planning reports as required.
• Supports plant or manufacturing unit supply S&OPs as required.
• Provides asset-specific input to the end-to-end supply chain processes and ensures planning master data in the ERP system are accurate and up to date.
