About The Position

Determined, imaginative, curious—if these are some of the ways you describe yourself, we want to learn more about you! At TC Energy, we are proud to connect the world to the energy it needs. Guided by our values of safety in every step, personal accountability, one team and active learning, we deliver the critical energy that North America and the world rely on while balancing reliability, affordability and sustainability. The Opportunity There are two engineering job openings available. Both roles provide engineering expertise to optimize the natural gas pipeline and storage system. One reporting to the Manager of Operations Planning–East. One reporting to the Manager of Facility Planning–East. Responsibilities for Operations Planning include coordinating facility maintenance by conducting capacity studies and being involved with the planning of construction programs; prioritizing storage injections and withdrawals; and maintaining real-time transient models of the pipeline system. Responsibilities for Facility Planning include long-term planning for system expansion and conducting capacity studies to meet customer needs and reach new markets as well as assisting with construction program planning, selection of pipeline routes, material and equipment specifications, and the development of commercial strategies and service offerings. While the core responsibilities are similar, each position will focus on the unique priorities of either Operations Planning or Facility Planning. What you'll do Apply engineering and analytical expertise in assigned functional activities. Use pipeline computer simulation models to: Evaluate pipeline operations and efficiency. Evaluate the pipeline system's ability to accommodate customer requests for transportation services, to determine means for serving new markets to evaluate methods to optimize the operation of the pipeline system, and to analyze alternative operations during facility outages Calculate capacity restrictions for maintenance and project activities. Coordinates the activities to minimize impact to customers as well as financial impact to TC Energy. Analyze daily operations, predict performance, locate underutilized capacity, simulate operating conditions, respond to technical questions from Gas Control, and compare actual versus estimated deliveries. Develop, implement, and monitor daily operational plans for moving gas through the pipeline system to satisfy contracts and optimize utilization. Provide engineering oversight to minimize the impact of construction and testing on daily gas flow. Participate in planning and scheduling construction programs. Develop high-level design of pipeline facilities, select routes, and specify materials and equipment. Develop alternative operating, replacement, and expansion proposals. Coordinate with Gas Control, Operations, and Engineering regarding growth, integrity work, and maintenance. Evaluate or review pipeline system capacity for posting on the Electronic Bulletin Board. Maintain up-to-date technical expertise, participate in professional groups, consult with outside experts, and assist in technical training. Ensure all engineering activities conform to codes, regulatory rules, company policies, standards, and specifications. Visit field locations and provide liaison between field and Headquarters. Provide engineering or system operating expertise for legal, rate, regulatory, operations, or facility issues. Interpret applicable codes and regulations in specialized areas. Effectively manage and complete multiple smaller-scale projects concurrently and timely. Solve analytical problems for non-routine issues. Other tasks as required
