The Role The Planning Engineer II applies approved technologies and architectures to specific requirements for additions to support growth and new services at Lumen. Location This is a work from home position within the U.S.

Requirements

  • Fully seasoned with typically 5+ years professional experience with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience or 2-3 years with a Master's Degree
  • Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities
  • Ability to prioritize with good time management skills
  • Strong data/economic analysis skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented with an intense focus on quality
  • Proven track record as adept and effective project manager
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and communications skills
  • Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience quoting to military installations and other government facilities
  • Experience in an engineering role that included a substantial business/financial focus

Responsibilities

  • Supports federal and local government quoting activity.
  • Prepares plans and specifications, to include gathering field data.
  • Assures that the most feasible, practical and economical means to complete the work are utilized. Provides cost data to support capital planning and budgeting.
  • Skilled in planning and/or engineering.
  • Analyzes local and wide area network systems and/or customer network environment, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges and other devices.
  • Supports the acquisition and implementation of leased services.
  • Receives direction and guidance to complete tasks.
