Job Summary As a Planning Economist, you will provide accurate and actionable economic evaluations that guide critical decisions across ConocoPhillips. This role works within a multidisciplinary team and offers exposure to the Permian Leadership Team and Executive Leadership Team (ELT). Requirements

Legally authorized to work in the United States
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Geology, related field, or foreign equivalent
3 or more years of experience in the oil and gas industry
Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Teams)
Basic level of proficiency knowledge of how key financial and quantitative indicators impact business performance
Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis

Nice To Haves

1 or more years of experience preparing and delivering presentations to leadership
1 or more years of experience applying economic modeling tools
1or more years of experience facilitating multidisciplinary teams in problem-solving sessions
Basic level of proficiency in upstream project cash flow construction, economic measures of merit, and related financial metrics
Intermediate level of knowledge of decision and risk analysis processes and methods
Strong focus on quality control and ability to complete tasks independently
Highly motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong team orientation and collaboration skills
Self-starter with the ability to manage responsibility and handle periods of high workload

Responsibilities

Coordinate with asset teams to produce Long Range Plans (LRP), Budget, and Outlook forecasts, ensuring timely delivery for management review
Deliver clear, well-structured economic analysis that supports portfolio evaluations and enables informed decisions
Develop, maintain, and run economic models, primarily using Excel
Refine and update financial planning variables such as shrink/yield, realizations, and transportation & processing costs
Respond to inquiries and support management in understanding business results and projections
Assist with reserve economic modeling in collaboration with the Chief Reservoir Engineering team
