About The Position

The Planning and Design Engineer I is responsible for reviewing engineering and design of proposed residential and commercial projects and ensures alternative routing delivers the most cost-effective design for construction. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.) Position is 100% Remote in the USA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 1-3 years' experience in hybrid fiber coax networks in an office and/or field setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Intermediate to Expert ability with Windows operating systems.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills.
  • Highly adaptive/flexible to changing environments and priorities.
  • Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years' Cable TV Coax and/or Fiber Design experience is preferred.
  • Experience with P2 Salesforce, P2 Sphere, IRIS, spatialNet, AutoCAD, Lode Data, and Microstation are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal and external customers to communicate project tasks, and schedules.
  • Coordinate activities with other employees within our or the customer's organization to ensure compliance and appropriate follow-through of policies, procedures, rules, rates, and completion dates applicable to his/her assigned projects.
  • Reviews proposed service routing and estimates materials, construction, and labor costs.
  • Verify and reconcile invoices and/or Purchase Orders.
  • May order materials or coordinate with administrative personnel.
  • Release addresses as serviceable and notify other departments of serviceability.
  • Organize and maintain data in clear, accurate formats. Ensure project files are properly maintained and uploaded in customer database.
  • Perform quality checks on field mapping notes and/or map digitizing received from others to ensure that all drafting specifications and RF design specifications have been met.
  • Perform quality control checks on all designs.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Coordinate with customer contractors, or 3rd party vendors to track jobs from start to finish.
  • Escalate any project related issues that may impact completion and/or customer satisfaction.
  • Review, prepare, analyze, interpret all land and right of way related agreements, deeds, easements, leases, permits and licenses.
  • Other duties as required.
