About The Position

The Planning Assistant Manager will play a key role in supporting VPC operations by overseeing a wide range of planning, reporting, and administrative functions. This position is responsible for preparing detailed operational and billing reports, managing departmental procurement activities including purchase orders, and coordinating complex meeting schedules. Success in this role requires strong organizational planning capabilities, advanced computer proficiency, and exceptional attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products including outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Required: An Associates Degree in Business Administration, Operational Planning, Project Management or 2 years of direct experience plus one year of indirect experience or;

  • Preferred: A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Operational Planning, Project Management or 3 years of direct experience or 5 years of indirect experience

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage departmental budgets, achieving measurable cost savings aligned with annual financial targets
  • Support corporate planning initiatives by delivering timely and accurate financial and operational insights that strengthened forecasting and strategic decision-making
  • Improve financial reporting workflows, reducing reporting cycles and enhancing data clarity to support executive and managerial decisions
  • Perform in-depth analysis of production volumes and shipment plans, enabling accurate forecasting, optimized resource utilization, and reduced operational variance
  • Oversee end-to-end production and operational workflows by conducting root cause analyses and reviewing system data to resolve discrepancies and enhance operational accuracy
  • Manage construction and project schedules to ensure all milestones are achieved within established timelines and budget parameters
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs for critical operational equipment, contributing to reduced downtime and extended equipment lifecycle
  • Develop and execute headcount planning strategies, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet operational workload demands
  • Oversee procurement processes, help streamline vendor management and ensuring compliance with company standards and operational requirements
  • Supervise three (3) specialists and conduct regular coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to support employee development and improve overall team effectiveness
