About The Position

We are seeking a Planning and Allocations Analyst to work in the Philadelphia Corporate office. The Planning and Allocations Analyst will develop, maintain, analyze, and execute item level merchandise plans using combination of ERP, Excel-based Item Planning Tool and retailer forecasts. This position is responsible for taking lead in review of business trends and recommends strategies to maximize results and is expected to assist the Senior Manager or Planning and Allocations in ensuring the priorities and objectives of the department are executed.

Requirements

  • Requires effective oral/presentation and written communication skills, can effectively interact with all levels of management.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office software, including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel are required, including spreadsheet design capability. 
  • Be capable of utilizing spreadsheet and ERP-type software in managing the planning process.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field is preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be frequently sitting, hearing, talking, using repetitive hand motions, and having close visual acuity while working on a computer, analyzing data, or reading extensively.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and previous working experience with JD Edwards MRP is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory by evaluating turnover and receipt flow by branch using ERP (JD Edwards) and MRP.  Includes placement of appropriate replenishment orders and execution of transfers to balance inventory when necessary.
  • Analyze historical shipment and sales order commit data to develop and maintain future weekly shipment forecasts to include seasonal peaks where required.        Utilization of the MS Excel-based item planning tool and MRP.
  • Product lines could vary from domestic internal production to external sourced categories.  Internal production would include production planning responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with internal (HQ and Warehouses) and external business partners (Factories and Sales Reps) where appropriate and required.
  • Manages the planning of item lifecycles to include exit strategies with the Planning and Allocations and Sales teams.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Planning and Allocations and Logistics Manager to address Supply Chain issues as well as with the Sales Department to drive sales opportunities.
  • Review commodity, sub-commodity, and key performance indicators as scheduled.        
  • Strive continuously build knowledge and skills.  Stays current with developments within the field and shares expertise with others.
  • Continually evaluates department procedures and identifies areas where efficiency and accuracy could be improved, making recommendations.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
