About The Position

Wood is seeking a Senior Planner to support a project on a client site. The Senior Planner is responsible for the development of project schedules and plans, ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy and in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards. The Principal Planner shall be responsible for identifying areas of best practice and driving continuous improvement within the Planning team. Supports the management and development of the Planning team, the management of project schedules and plans, and the preparation and filing of project planning documentation. May act as the focal point for several project scopes. May deliver the role as an individual or as part of a team as determined by the requirements of the project organisation. Authorization to work lawfully in the United States without sponsorship from Wood, now or in the future, is required.

Requirements

  • Typically requires ISCED level 6 (Bachelor's) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant scheduling/planning experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software.
  • Advanced knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for Scheduling.
  • Advanced understanding of WBS & CBS structures and project reporting capabilities.
  • Advanced ability to develop project schedules and plans.
  • Excellent understanding of earned value application, cost and schedule variance analyses/trending.
  • Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management.
  • Prior experience in a senior planning role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project schedules and plans ensuring detail and accuracy.
  • Identify areas of best practice and drive continuous improvement within the Planning team.
  • Support the management and development of the Planning team.
  • Manage project schedules and plans.
  • Prepare and file project planning documentation.
  • Act as the focal point for several project scopes.
  • Review and maintain planning control structures in alignment with approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Monitor and control planning activities through all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with engineering, procurement, and construction functions to maintain awareness of project activities.
  • Provide copies of project plans and schedules in accordance with project reporting requirements.
  • Review and issue updates to project plans and schedules.
  • Monitor and assess schedule impact of change notifications.
  • Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings.
  • Participate in schedule risk analysis as required.
